How to troubleshoot account suspension or service restriction symptoms

Identify signs of suspension, abuse restriction, or service-level blocking.

Suspension or service restriction symptoms can resemble technical failures, but the root cause may be billing status, abuse controls, malware enforcement, or policy-based mail sending limits.

Common symptoms

  • The website shows a suspension or restriction page
  • Mail sending suddenly stops while login still works
  • cPanel access behavior changed unexpectedly

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Review recent notices in your client area or contact email for billing, abuse, or security actions.
  2. Confirm whether the issue affects only one service layer, such as outbound mail, or the entire hosting account.
  3. If malware or abuse is involved, gather evidence of cleanup steps before requesting reinstatement.
  4. Avoid repeated retries that could worsen a mail reputation or abuse event.
  5. After the underlying issue is resolved, test website access, cPanel access, and mail delivery separately.

Additional notes

  • Not every restriction is a full suspension; sometimes only outbound mail or one protocol is limited.
  • Resolution usually requires addressing the reason for the restriction, not only the visible symptom.

When to contact support

Contact support if you believe the restriction is in error or need the specific remediation steps.
